Support > Forums > OpenBots Studio > Unable to capture objects from Advanced UI Recorder.
Hi Team,
Please note that we're unable to proceed UI automations by using the Advanced UI Recorder.
There is no option to identify whether this recorder successfully captures an object in an application and it also generates an error notification as below, for each executions.
Error: 'System.InavlidOperationException, Message: Target Element cannot receive focus'
Kindly check and support us in resolving the issue.
Thanks.

Hi Thamalij,
You can use the desktop commands to interact with a desktop application.
Each command provides you the option to record and validate elements. Use the recorder to indicate the element which the bot will be interacting with, the recorder will prompt you to choose the application name and will highlight the chosen element in red. See steps below
-Click on UI Element Recorder
-Indicate window name, and weather recorder should capture element on first click. This can be deselected when there are multiple steps needed to get to the desired element. Click record to start
-Click on the target element in the application. The selector will be extracted, for example if the Edit tab is selected on notepad, the following selector will be generated: https://openbots-my.sharepoint.com/:i:/g/personal/nataly_alvarado_openbots_ai/EeJoI316FENLkqNUaZ70aYgBKVXCLgfm5AZKZEcaSC_miw?e=ZZDjx8
-You can edit each part of the element, select/deselect attributes and concatenate variables to make selectors dynamic.
-Validate your selectors to verify that the bot will be able to find the correct element. If successful, it will highlight the element in red, and mark the validation as successful in green
