Dear Team,

It would be great if you share me the Send keys document for the browser-based applications and Desktop applications in Openbots.

Regards, Faheem

Hi syed. faheem,

Thank you for reaching out.

There are 3 commands available to send key(s) to a targeted element or window.

1- Desktop Send Key

This command is part of the Desktop Commands under the UI Automation package and can be configured to send specific keys to a web or desktop element. The target element can be specified by using the built-in recorder:

Window/Java Element Recorder: Designed for desktop application interaction. Native Browser Element Recorder: Tailored for web browser interaction.

Please note that for the Native Browser recorder to function correctly, it is necessary to have the extension installed and enabled in the target browser engine (Chrome, Edge, or Firefox). To assist you further, we have attached the extension installation guide and a usage sample for your reference.

2- Send Keystrokes and Send Advanced Keystrokes

These commands send keystrokes or advanced keystrokes to a targeted Window. Keys are sent to the currently active window, or use can specify target by window name (wildcards * are supported).
